The Naming Ceremony of Ultra-Deep Water Research & Ocean Drilling Ship
"Dream", the ultra-deep water research & ocean drilling ship, designed and built by CSSC and more than 150 units, was held its naming and first trial voyage activities last month. The ship is one of the most complex ships in construction and is expected to be completed in 2024.
The vessel has an advanced drilling system, with two operation modes of oil & gas drilling and ocean drilling. Its laboratory has magnetic shielding room, ultra-clean room and the world's first automatic core transmission and storage system, meeting the requirements of the marine field.
It has an integrated information system, monitoring drilling and intelligently collaborating experiments. The latest 30 MW closed-loop network power station & battery storage technology are also applied, greatly improving the economy & reliability and saving energy by over 15%.
